* Can lead to bullying, issues with self image, and other pit falls that pre teens are easily susceptible to at this fragile stage of developement.

* Can lead to bullying, issues with self image, and other pit falls that pre teens are easily susceptible to at this fragile stage of developement.

Solution: Create a series of advertisementsdirected towards children between 11 - 14years of age to encourage increased empathysocially among that age group.

Visuals should allow enough interestfor the viewer to take the next steps:

1. Scan the code/get the app

2. Read and contribute to the national blog (know they are not alone)

3. Get the facts

4. Be Nicer.

People think that I’modd, but I like all the same things that they do.

I’m friends witheverybody!

Empathy is a little word with a lot of bigger meanings to it. It comes from the German Einfühlung, meaning to feel as one with. The best metaphor to explain the concept is “walking a mile in someone else’s shoes,” in order to appropriately understand that person’s perspective. Being truly empathic means connecting with another person on a relatively close emotional level.

INCREASE YOUR EMPATHY by getting a truthful assess-ment of how well you consider your friends feelings in your routine communications. If you hear negative feedback from more than a few people, they may be picking up on traits or practices you’re not even aware of.

Become more mindful of your surroundings, par-ticularly in groups of people. Are you a good lis-tener, or do you constantly “think ahead” and inter-rupt others? Do people seem to avoid you in social situations or send out negative, unspoken signals?
