Proposal: Promotion of the International Year of

Cooperatives with the Youth Cooperative

The declaration to the United Nations A/RES/64/136 adopted to the December 18th 2009 pronunces the 2012 the International Year of Cooperatives, this calls attention of everything cooperative world. This is the perfect opportunity to integrate the young people to this great movement .

International Year of Cooperatives

Focus of the Year: The Year should aim to raise public awareness of co-operatives in their diversity , especially among the young adult population. It is hoped that through this this increase public recognition of cooperatives' socioeconomic impact worldwide that co-operatives will grow, new co-operatives will be formed and that policy-makers will ensure enabling policy and legislation for co-operative formation and growth.
