profile of PHYSICS
Introducing Dr. Fred Currell.Specialist on Molecular Physics
Dr. Currell was able to explain his research by our Data projector
A mixture of year 12, 13 and 14 pupils were engaged in the lecture
Dr Currell blended learning styles to keep the attention of pupils
Pupils at ICD were Quick to respond to his demonstrations of complex
topics
Explaining the way light behaves is relevant to GCSE and A level
Physics
Our Pupils did us proud and answered difficult and challenging
questions on this new topic
Mr Corvan meets Prof Fitzsimmons
Prof. Alan Fitzsimmons is a specialist on Astrophysics at Queens
Prof. Alan Fitzsimmons gave a lecture on a possible explanation as
to the disappearance of the dinosaurs

things like asteroid collisions
Prof. Fitzsimmons shows a simulation of the Earth 15mins after
an asteroid collision
Prof. Fitzsimmons took the opportunity to tell the pupils at 6th
form about the importance of physics and following your passion
Dr. Robert Ryans and one of the his PhD students meet Mr Corvan
