Rabbits and why I own them.

My mom’s friend Abby at Wal-Mart wanted to start a 4-H group. Our groups name was the Rabbiteers.

My sister got her first rabbit Shadow then I got mine a week or two later, her name was Jazzie. She lasted up till this year.

I won some ribbons with jazz but with apache I did better. Then we rescued a few rabbits and bought some too, and apache and jazz had a few baby bunnies.

Abby’s parents had a few quails from fair and gave me one, his or her she was a lavender pearl button quail. I won a trophy with my quail.

The third year I showed Q.T. she was a Holland lop like jazz and apache but she was smaller. My sister had better luck then me the next year.

This last year I showed a lion head, her name is T.J. I didn’t do well because she had never been shown.

We sometimes refer to my house as The Furget Funny Farm. After the first two rabbits we had over 30 animals by the time we moved.

I have shown in about ten fairs. There is a lot that goes on there.

For people who like rabbit meat, I also raise rabbits for meat pen. It takes 3 rabbits to make a meat pen for fair.

I am well experienced with rabbits. And I may be in the fair coming up this summer.
