We seek to address the impact of rapid urbanization in the context of an ideal quality of life, cultural depth, and economic opportunities in current and future development in Shenzhen, China. Our goal is to create the conditions which will facilitate these aims by capitalizing on the cultural fabric and organizational logic of old Hu-Tongs and the carrying capacity of newer high rise developments in Urban Villages. From this we aim to identify developable areas which embody these qualities for implementation of a rational prototype.
