Map ReliabilityThe original data was in Transverse MercatorProjection, with measurements in yards andelevation in feet. The map was subsequentlyconverted to AMG via an undocumentedprocedure. Some soil boundaries and soil surveysites digitised from the original CSIROreconnaissance soil maps contain appreciableerror inherent from the source maps.

MAP USERS NOTE
The information on this map is based on the originalfield work of G.M. Dimmock & K.D. Nicolls,CSIRO Division of Soils, Adelaide. The map hasbeen updated and reprinted by the TasmanianDepartment of Primary Industries, Water andEnvironment. Some soil boundaries or map unitcodes may differ from the original maps. No attempthas been made to determine the reliability oraccuracy of this map. The Crown, in the right of theState of Tasmania, does not accept any responsibilityfor any loss or damage which may result to anyperson arising from reliance on all or any part of thisinformation, whether or not that loss or damage hasresulted from negligence or any other cause.
The map provides an appraisal of the soil distributionbased on landforms, climate and geology. The soilboundaries have been delineated through aerialphoto-interpretation and limited field work. Althoughthe original map was surveyed at a scale of 1:63 360(1 inch:l mile), it has been reprinted at a scale of1:100 000. This map should not be enlarged andshould be used in conjunction with theaccompanying soil report which gives additionalinformation for the soil map units described below.
