RCM Report February 2018

I attended the ENYR meeting on January 27th, 2018 at the Church of the Resurrection in Kew Gardens Queens. The next ENYR meeting will be held on February 17th, 2018.

Members Present:

Anthony – Chair Joseph – RCM Metro Area Greg – RCM Suffolk Area Laura – Treasurer Keith – Literature Chair Omar – sitting in as Western Queens incumbent RCM Tommy – Guest, Suffolk Area Literature Emilio – Guest Suffolk Area

Chair Report:

Annual ENYR BOD meeting will be held at the Western Queens Area Convention on Saturday March 3rd, 2018 from 1:30-3pm in the Cypress Room. Greater NY Region contact chair asking if the region would like to purchase literature from them and also split the cost of the regional meeting. Chair invited GNYR to send someone to the ENYR meeting and said they could have the floor to explain in more detail but nobody from GNYR came. Chair mentioned that we used to split the cost of the meeting list in the past but it ended up not working out well for the region.

Treasurer Report:

See attached for all details. 12/31/17 checkbook balance - $22,709.24

Literature Report:

See attached for all details. Total purchased from WSO - $4,212.10 Total sales to areas - $4,507.90

RD Report – See attached for all details. CAR Workshop at Nassau Area Convention went very well. The workshop was facilitated by WB member Mary Ellen P. A Powerpoint of the CAR motions and additional related materials was created by the RD and is available on Dropbox to share by request. She also attached in her report a letter to the WB Chair from the attorneys representing the South Florida Region.

WB member mentioned at the CAR workshop that the pamphlet Narcotics Anonymous and Persons on Medication Assisted Treatment should not be put out on a pamphlet rack at meetings. It is PR material and therefore should be distributed through PR/PI presentations.

***VERY IMPORTANT… CAR Tally sheets will be handed out at this month’s area. ALL CAR TALLY SHEETS MUST BE HANDED IN BY APRIL’S AREA ON APRIL 4TH. Tally sheets must be given to the RD at April’s regional meeting. I would prefer hard copies to be handed it but you can email me as well at gvergith@hotmail.com. The tally sheets only have the motion and a box to check Yes No Abs. The CAR report itself has the motion, the intent, the rationale by the region, and the World Board response. I would recommend that if your group is going to vote on the motions in the CAR that you have at least 1 group member read the motion with the intent and everything else from the CAR so they have an idea of what the motion entails. If you have any questions about the motions my number is in the secretary report and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability. There is also a possibility of a CAR Workshop being held in Suffolk Area in early March. Details are being worked out and info will be given out ASAP.
