SUMMARY

"Replay Video Capture" is Applian's

not-free "screen recording" program.

For some computers, it can also be

used to record streaming Web-based

videos from Web sites that block

"media capture".

Some of the Web sites that block

"media capture" are Netflix, Hulu, and

Amazon Prime Video.3

"REPLAY VIDEO CAPTURE" FOR

"SCREEN RECORDING"

• "Replay Video Capture" is

Applian's problematic program for

doing "screen recording". When it

works, it taps into and records the

video signal for all or a selected

part of your monitor screen at the

"Graphics Device Interface" of the

"Windows.." operating system.

"SCREEN RECORDING"• "Replay Video Capture" installs and

runs in about 50 percent of the

"Windows 10 Home" and "Windows

10 Pro" computers that we have

tested it with. However, it's free

alternative program (iSpring "Free

Cam") has never failed to install in

any of the computers that we have

tested it in.

various "Windows 10 Home" and

"Windows 10 Pro" computers:

FOR "SCREEN RECORDING" FOR

• This Web page at the Netflix is

the only place at their Web site

where you can view a short video

for free without logging in with a

paid or trial Netflix account:

• Click on one of the movie trailers:

• The sample movie trailer that I

selected is located at this URL:

• Click on the "Play" button of the

video's "thumbnail" to start the

streaming process:

• The video will start playing:

• When you move your mouse

cursor over the streaming video,

the controls for starting, stopping,

audio level, etc. are "unhidden":

• Applian's "Replay Video

Capture" requires that you have

the same bit rate for both the

"Speaker" and the "Recording"

tabs for the "Sound" applet in

"Windows..":

• If you have different bit rates for

speaker and recording the

following information box might

be displayed when you attempt to

do a screen recording from inside

"Replay Video Capture":

• If this information box is displayed

by "Replay Video Capture, click

on it's "Yes" button:

• A second "Replay Video Capture

Message" box will be displayed:

• Read the verbiage inside the

second "Replay Video Capture

Message" box. Then click on the

"OK" button:

• Go to the Windows "Control

Panel"

• Go to "Sound" inside the

Windows "Control Panel"

• Make that the "Playback" tab of

the "Sound" applet is selected:

• Click on "Properties" of the

"Playback" tab:

• Click on the "Advanced" tab of

the "Speakers Properties" box:

• Select the 48,000 hertz rate in

the "Speakers Properties" box:

• Click on the "Apply" button of the

"Speakers Properties" box, if the

"Apply" button is not grayed out:

• Click on the "OK" button and the

"Speakers Properties" box will

disappear:

• Go back to the "Sound" box:

• Click on the "Recording" tab to

configure the microphone's bit

• Click on the "Properties" button of

the "Recording" tab:

• A "Microphone Properties" box

will be displayed:

• Click on the "Advanced" tab of

the "Microphone Properties" box:

• Select the 48000 hertz rate in the

"Microphone Properties" box:

• Click on the "Apply" button of the

"Microphone Properties" box if

the "Apply" button is not grayed

• Click on the "OK" button of the

"Microphone Properties" box and

the "Microphone Properties" box

will disappear:

• You will be back at the "Sound"

applet of the "Control Panel":

• Click on the "OK" button of the

"Sound" applet and the "Sound"

applet box will disappear:

• Start up Applian's "Replay Video

Capture":

• After you start it up,

Applian's "Replay Video Capture"

you will probably have to click on

the "Yes" button of a "User

Account Control" dialog box:

• After you start it up,

Applian's "Replay Video Capture"

will provide you with the following

dialog box with buttons that

provide you with advice:

• Click on the "Close" button of the

dialog box:

• Applian's "Replay Video Capture"

will probably provide you this

second dialog box:

• Click on the "No" button of the

second dialog box:

• At this point, you can click on the

"Mark Video" button to draw a

green rectangle around the area

that you wish to record.

• However it is usually easier to click

on the "GET VIDEO" button of the

"Replay Video Capture" dialog box:

• The following advice box will

probably be displayed:

• Drag the top title bar of the

"Replay Video Capture" box so

that this box does not cover any

part of the video player in the

Web page:

• Go to your Web browser and play

the desired video:

• Go back to the advice box and

click on "OK":

• The video in the Web browser will

now have a green box around it:

rectangle as you see fit:

Dragging just below the top of the

green rectangle moves the entire

green rectangle.

The sides and corners of the green

rectangle can also be dragged.

• Click on the "Accept" button

inside the green box:

• While you are still at the Web

browser, click on the "Pause"

button inside the video that is

playing to stop the playing of the

video:

• Then, you need to put the video

back at its starting point:

Either drag the ball of the video

leftward back to the start of the

video or do a reload of the entire

Web page:

• Then, you need to put the video

back at its starting point:

Either drag the ball of the video

leftward back to the start of the

video or do a reload of the entire

Web page:

• The video needs to be back at its

starting point so that it looks like:

• or if you reloaded the Web page

from the Web browser's "Reload"

button, the video will look like

• Go back to the "Replay Video

Capture" dialog box:

• Make sure that the entire "region"

of the video is displayed inside

the white box:

• Click on the "Record" button of

the "Replay Video Capture"

dialog box:

• The "Record" button will change

into a red "Stop" button:

• Go back to the Web browser and

start the playing of the video:

• The recording process will start

• During the "real-time" recording

process, the video that is actually

being recorded will be displayed

• When the video stream ends in

the Web browser, Click on the

"Stop" button of the "Replay

Video Capture" dialog box:

• The "Stop" button will turn into a

white "Record" button:

• The recording will be located at

C:\Users\<username>\Videos\

RVC recordings\

• If you have not already done so,

"Movies & TV" in "Windows 10"

will probably make you install the

"MPEG-2 Video Extension" at the

"Microsoft Store":
