Vision Statement
The Riphah Institute of Clinical and Professional Psychology (RICPP) at Riphah
International University aspires to be a National and International Recognized Leader in
Undergraduate and Graduate Education in Clinical and Professional Psychology where
Undergraduates, Graduate Students, and Faculty establish close collaborations to learn the
Scientific Principles of Behavior and Mental Processes, to make Significant Contributions to
the Science and Practice of Psychology, and to produce Professionals who serve the Local,
National, and Global Communities.
Mission Statement
The RICPP is committed to Excellence in Undergraduate and Graduate Education. Our
Faculty and Graduates are expected to be Competent and Ethical Professionals committed to
the Science of Psychology and its Application to Real-World Situations. Our Graduate
Programs prepare students to become Licensed Clinical Psychologists, School Psychologists,
Specialists, and Licensed Professional Counsellors who provide Evidence-Based Services for
Children, Adults, and Families in a variety of Healthcare and Educational Settings.

RICPP PROGRESS SUMMARY
Introduction
Riphah Institute of Clinical and Professional Psychology (RICPP) was founded in
July 2015 at Riphah International University, Lahore Campus. RICPP was established with
aims to provide students with exceptionally sound knowledge, tremendous skills and great
attitudes that will help them begin their career anywhere in the world. It offers diverse range
of Programs at Undergraduate, Graduate and Post-Graduate levels that integrates Education,
Research, and Service Activities to advance the overall Mission of the University. It
emphasizes on the Theoretical Background as well as Practical Application of Psychological
Principles of Clinical and Applied Psychology.
It aims to provide students with a broad and thorough knowledge and to train them for
acquiring Professional Skills like Psychological Assessment and Clinical Management by
using different Therapeutic Interventions as well as Clinical Research. Furthermore, it
inculcates Professional Skills in students and fosters comprehensive knowledge regarding
Psychology Theory, Practices, and promotes students’ understanding with Applied Learning
and Teaching Practices. They are also provided with diverse exposure by taking advantage of
number of opportunities such as innovative and rigorous courses and rich experiential
learning opportunities such as Workshops, Conferences and Seminars.
Riphah Institute of Clinical and Professional Psychology (RICPP) is progressively
ensuring excellence in Research (Both Basic and Applied Research) from Clinical,
Developmental, and Social Perspectives. It is ensuring excellence in service through sharing
knowledge and expertise and applying it to the improvement of Mental Wellbeing and
collaborating both Locally and Globally with Researchers and other Renowned Professionals
in the field.
Riphah Institute of Clinical and Professional Psychology (RICPP) is making efforts to
produce next generation of leaders in Research, Teaching and in Applications of Psychology.
It also endeavors to foster an environment, which is not only compatible with the University
Vision and Mission but also aims to produce Professionals with Islamic Moral and Ethical
Values and to develop the future leaders with the capability to proactively lead in their field.

Total Number of Students in RICPP
Riphah Institute of Clinical and Professional Psychology (RICPP) by the grace of Almighty
Allah achieved the target and succeeded in acquiring 265 Admissions up till now. The
dropout rate was pretty less. The RICPP Faculty actively took part in the Admission
Campaign.

Culture and in this regard RICPP got successful Synopses Submission on 18th February, 2017.

12 Students of MS Top Up Clinical Psychology Fall 2016.

Board of Studies
Riphah Institute of Clinical and Professional Psychology (RICPP) has successfully conducted
Three Board of Studies (BOS) Meetings at Riphah International University, Lahore Campus.
First Board of Studies (BOS) Meeting was held on 24th February’2016. Second BOS was
held on 15th December, 2016 and the latest third BOS meeting was held on 17th March, 2017.

BS Mental Scheme of Studies Meeting
BS Mental Scheme of Studies Meeting was held on 27th January, 2017. Two members i.e.
Ms. Tasnim Rehna, Incharge Psychology Dept., WISH Campus Islamabad and Ms. Irum
Nawaz, Senior Lecturer, SLP Dept., WISH Campus Islamabad came for discussion of BS
Mental Health Scheme of Studies with Dr. Nashi Khan.

Clinical Placements at RICPP
In October 2016, Riphah Institute of Clinical and Professional Psychology (RICPP) for the
first time started its Clinical Placements with collaboration of the Best Teaching Hospitals
and Special Education Institutes of Lahore. These Special Educational Institutes and
Hospitals includes Services Hospital, Jinnah Hospital, General Hospital, Combined Military
Hospital, Special Education and Training Centre, Amin Maktab, Rising Sun, Shadab Special
Education Institute, Impact, Lahore Institute of Special Care and Attention and Turning
Point. It was an honor to send three semesters of students of Advanced Diploma in Clinical
Psychology (total, 45) and MS in Clinical Psychology (total, 21) under the Supervisions of
Qualified Experts in these Teaching Hospitals and Special Education Institutes. Their expert
supervisions are providing Clinical opportunities for RICPP students. We hope to have long
and successful working alliance with these prestigious and well-reputed Teaching Hospitals
and Special Education Institutes of Lahore in future as well.

RICPP PROGRESS SUMMARY
Successful Completion of Clinical Placement at RICPP
On 14th, 15th, and 16th April’ 2017, First time Grand Clinical Placements Viva was held at
RICPP. Out of 66 students (18 students of ADCP Fall 2015-16, 27 students of ADCP Fall
2016-17, and 21 students of MS Fall 2015-17), 64 students appeared for the Grand Clinical
Placement Viva. However, only 2 students could not appear due to their personal reasons. 64
Trainee Clinical Psychologists successfully completed their Clinical Placements at RICPP.

§ Workshop on Cognitive Behavior Therapy was conducted on 14th July, 2016 by Dr.
Shahista Jabeen at Riphah Institute of Clinical & Professional Psychology (RICPP)
Lahore.
§ Workshop on Reiki Therapy was conducted on 21st July, 2016, by Dr. Shumaila Ijaz
at Riphah Institute of Clinical & Professional Psychology (RICPP) Lahore.
§ Series of Training Workshops on Advance Quantitative Research Methods were
conducted on 3rd December, 2016, 10th December, 24th December and 27th
December, 2016 at Riphah Institute of Clinical & Professional Psychology
(RICPP) Lahore. The workshops were conducted by Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Kausar,
PhD & Post Doc. (UK) Vice Chancellor, Lahore College Women University
(LCWU) Ex: Director, Institute of Applied Psychology & Director, Centre for
Clinical Psychology, University of the Punjab, Lahore and Member, Social
Sciences Committee, HEC.

§ Another workshop organized by Riphah Institute of Clinical and Professional
Psychology, Lahore Campus was on ‘HYPNOSIS’.
§ It was conducted by US trained Consultant Psychologist Mr. Ibrahim Siwaish
on 18th March, 2017 for Post Graduate Internees and Faculty Members.

Library
Riphah Institute of Clinical and Professional Psychology (RICPP) has so far collection of
more than 200 Applied and Clinical Psychology books in Library’s Psychology Section.
Moreover, list of new books have been finalized and the department will soon purchase a
huge collection of books after the budget approval.

Psychological Testing Lab
Riphah Institute of Clinical and Professional Psychology’s new Psychological Testing Lab
development is in process. Currently, RICPP has 23 Psychological Assessment Tools and is
in process of purchasing new Psychological Assessment tools after the budget approval.
Experimental Lab
Riphah Institute of Clinical and Professional Psychology (RICPP) newly, fully furnished and
equipped Experimental Lab is in development process. The experiments that can be
performed manually have been executed. However, the demand of purchasing new apparatus
is in process.

Future Projects
The upcoming workshops that Riphah Institute of Clinical and Professional Psychology
(RICPP) is going to arrange in near future include:
§ Teaching Skills in Psychology & Research by Dr. Kashif Fida
§ Workshop on APA 6/ Skill Enhancement by Dr. Nashi Khan
Furthermore, RICPP is in process of making Research Projects and Planning for
Annual Conference by the end of the year 2017. RICPP has made Outstanding Progress
within a period of few months and is endeavoring to make it a place of Excellence at par with
any World Standard Psychology Institute.
