From the Start menu, select All Programs>Microsoft Office> Microsoft Office Tools>Microsoft Office Picture Manger

Create a new folder on your desktop

Right click and a menu will appear, click New>Folder

The folder should be titled with your last and first name, it should appear as LastNameFirstName (for example DoeJohn).

From the File menu choose File> Save As

Select “Custom width x height” then change the longest side of your image to 1024 pixels.* When you are finished click OK.

*other side should automatically adjust

Step 4

In the Edit Pictures panel, double click the “resize” button.

In the program under “Getting Started” select “Edit Pictures”

Step 7

Save the image in your folder.

Image files should be named LastNameFirstName_image#.jpg (for example, DoeJohn_001.jpg, DoeJohn_002.jpg).

If you have correctly followed the steps above, your file size is now smaller and more manageable; easier to email or put on a disk.

Look at the difference it made in this photo’s file size!
