The Obituary
Darryl Christopher McPhatter was born July 10, 1961 at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Lillington, NC. He was the fourth born child of the late Arthur and Zelma McPhatter. Our Father called him home on October 17, 2019.
As a child Darryl was affectionately known as “Frista”, a loving nick name given to him by his Father. Darryl attended and graduated from Hoke County High School in May 1980. In addition to his parents, Darryl’s older sister, Mrs. Creola McPhatter-Lyons, M.S.Ed and brother, Mr. James Franklin McPhatter, Retired US Army Veteran, preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one sister, Dr. Lisa Anastasia McPhatter, of Salisbury, NC and three brothers, Mr. Marvin McPhatter of Red Springs, NC, Mr. Tyrus (Sherri) McPhatter of Durham, NC, and Mr. Arthur David McPhatter of Raeford, NC.
He also leaves behind three Aunts, Mrs. Agree Jackson of Raeford, NC, Mrs. Yvonne Williams of Hephzibah, Georgia, Mrs. Lillian Watts of Durham, NC, his loving sister-in-law, Mrs. Bridgette McPhatter, Raeford, NC, five nephews and two nieces, and a host of family and friends.
