RETAINING WALL INSTALLATION WORKSNORMANBY ROAD, CAULFIELDMONDAY 20 JULY TO FRIDAY 14 AUGUST 2020
As part of the Metro Tunnel works to construct the eastern tunnel entrance in South Yarra, we will be installing retaining walls along Normanby Road. The retaining walls will be used to support cables and rail signals that will power the new trains.
What we are doing• Installing retaining walls by excavating into the
ground
• Installing precast concrete panels, and securing them in place with additional concrete
• These works will involve the use of excavators, hand tools, concrete pumps and asphalting equipment.
WhenMonday 20 July to Friday 14 August• 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday
• 7am to 1pm, Saturday.
What to be aware of• These works are expected to generate medium
levels of noise, with some periods of high-level noise
• A lane closure will be required to safely distance local traffic from equipment while it is in use
• Some parking will temporarily be removed during this time to allow for two-way traffic on Normanby Road. Traffic management will be in place to manage this safely.
