Rev. 19:7-10

MARRIAGE

SUPPER

(Rev 19:7) Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made

herself ready.

(Rev 19:8) And to her was granted that she should be

arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the

righteousness of saints.

(Eph 5:25) Husbands, love your wives, even as

Christ also loved the church, and gave

himself for it;

(Eph 5:26) That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the

washing of water by the word,

(Eph 5:27) That he might present it to himself a glorious

church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should

be holy and without blemish.

(Rom 1:20) For the invisible things

of him from the creation of the

world are clearly seen, being

understood by the things that are made, even his

eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without

excuse:

(Gal 4:6) And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his

Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

(Col 3:19) Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

MARRIAGE

SUPPER

I. THE PREPARATION OF THE BRIDE

(Rth 3:1) Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that

it may be well with thee?(Rth 3:2) And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth

barley to night in the threshingfloor.(Rth 3:3) Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: but make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.(Rth 3:4) And it shall be, when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and

thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt do.(Rth 3:5) And she said unto her, All that thou

sayest unto me I will do.

A. The COACH of the

preparation

(Rth 3:1) Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek

rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?

(Rth 3:2) And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth

barley to night in the threshingfloor.

(2Co 11:2) For I am jealous over you with

godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may

present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

(Heb 4:3) For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my

wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of

the world.

(Heb 4:9) There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of

God.

B. The preparation

of CLEANSING

(Rth 3:3) Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: but

make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done

eating and drinking.

(Eph 5:25) Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for

it;

(Eph 5:26) That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

(Eph 5:27) That he might present it to himself a glorious

church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but

that it should be holy and without blemish.

(Eph 5:32) This is a great mystery: but I

speak concerning Christ and the church.

C. The preparation

of the COLOGNE

(Rth 3:3) Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy

raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: but make not

thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and

drinking.

(1Jn 2:27) But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you:

but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

(Eph 5:2) And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and

a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

(2Co 2:14-15) Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to

triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his

knowledge by us in every place. For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved,

and in them that perish:

(Gal 5:22) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,

gentleness, goodness, faith,

(Gal 5:23) Meekness, temperance: against such

there is no law.

D. The preparation

of the CLOTHES

(Rth 3:3) Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get

thee down to the floor: but make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating

and drinking.

(Eph 4:22) That ye put

off concerning the former

conversation the old man,

which is corrupt

according to the deceitful

lusts;

(Eph 4:24) And that ye put on the new man, which after

God is created in

righteousness and true holiness.

E. The preparation

of the CHANGE of position

(Rth 3:3) Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy

raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: but make not thyself known unto the man, until

he shall have done eating and drinking.

(Php 2:3) Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem

other better than themselves.

(Php 2:4) Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

(Php 2:5) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

(Col 3:12) Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and

beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind,

meekness, longsuffering;

(Col 3:13) Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as

Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

(1Pe 5:6) Humble yourselves therefore under

the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in

due time:

F. The preparation

of the CRUCIFIED

life

(Rth 3:4) And it shall be, when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall

lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee

down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt do.

(Joh 10:17) Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might

take it again.

(Joh 10:18) No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to

take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

(Gal 2:20) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the

flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for

me.

G. The preparation

of the CASTING our

self at his feet

(Rth 3:4) And it shall be, when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt

do.

(Joh 12:3) Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and

anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with

the odour of the ointment.

(Luk 10:39) And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard

his word.

(Joh 11:32) Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down

at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

(Mat 28:9) And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All

hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

H. The preparation

of the COMPLYING with his will

(Rth 3:4) And it shall be, when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt

do.

(Eph 5:22) Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as

unto the Lord.

(Rth 3:5) And she said unto her, All that thou sayest unto me I will

do.

(Rth 3:6) And she went down unto the floor, and did according to all that her mother in law bade

her.
