Review Of Lesson 1

• Before the world began, God purposed to (1) send His Son to save from sin all who obey, and to (2) establish His church. Jesus’ coming is the overall theme of the Bible. The law of Moses was a law specifically given to the Jews, and Gentiles were not subject to it. God now calls all through the gospel. God made His Son His spokesman today, and He is the one we are to hear, not Moses or the prophets.

Review Lesson 2

• The written scriptures are the inspired words of the Lord revealed through the Holy Spirit, not by the will of any man.

• They are complete, final, and eternal.

• They require that we walk in them.

• We are not to go beyond, abiding in the doctrines of Christ.

• We are to do all things in the name of Christ, i.e. by His authority.

FAITH

Hebrews 11:1 1 Now faith is the assurance of

things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Acts 6:7 7 The word of God kept on spreading; and the number of the disciples continued to increase greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were becoming obedient to the faith.

Acts 17:30 30 “Therefore having overlooked

the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should

Matthew 10:32 32 “Therefore everyone who confesses

Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in

heaven.

BAPTISM

Acts 2:38 38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 22:16 16 ‘Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.’

1 Peter 3:20-2120 who once were disobedient, when

the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the

construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water. 21 Corresponding to that, baptism now

saves you — not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience — through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Romans 6:3 3 Or do you not know that all of us

who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?

IN BAPTISM WE RE-ENACT DEATH, BURIAL, AND RESURRECTION – ROM. 6:3-7

3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?

4 therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; 7 for he who has died is freed from sin.

We are baptized into Christ In baptism we simulate:

His death ( old self crucified) His burial ( buried with Him in water) His resurrection ( raised from burial in

water ) Raised to walk a new life in Christ In baptism we are united with Him.

All past sins are washed away Freed from slavery to sin
