SIS SIS -- Company HistoryCompany History--MWBMWB

• Established 1946 by Dr. Ing. Friedrich Raupach

• 1956 first fully resin insulated instrument transformer

• 1965 first resin insulated outdoor instrument transformer

- In 1984, Ritz produced first installation of SIS bus bars

• 1989 MWB is split into three different companies -

Establishment of MWB Mittelspannung GmbHEstablishment of MWB Mittelspannung GmbH

• 1992 sale of MWB Mittelspannung to Sadtem

• 1999 establishment of MWB Messwandler GmbH as 100%

daughter of WTW Wirges GmbH

• 2007 merger of the companies WTW, MWB and Ritz to

RITZ Instrument Transformers GmbH

SIS SIS –– Bus Bar Design PrincipleBus Bar Design Principle

1 Aluminum or copper conductor.

2 The main insulation consists of epoxy resin impregnated crepe paper.

The impregnation process is performed under vacuum.

3 Capacitive graded area – implementing of capacitive layers by using semi-conductive

crepe paper.

4 The last layer is grounded and ensure touch-safe bus bar.

SIS SIS –– Production ProcessProduction Process

Indoor Bus Bar

• Paper insulated conductor, vacuum sealed by using a shrinking sleeve.

• Drying process under vacuum.

• Impregnation process conducted under vacuum.

• Total process under temperature control.• Total process under temperature control.

Outdoor Bus Bar – Additional Steps

• Indoor Bus bar covered by stainless steel tube.

• Adding of outdoor material.

SIS SIS –– Multiple Bus Bar ConnectionMultiple Bus Bar Connection

Performed with flexible connectors

• Allows thermal compensation.

• Compensating of installation

SIS SIS –– FixationFixation

Flexible mounting system – Ritz design

• Aluminum C-profiles

• Standard angles

• Hammer head screw (T-screw)

• Fixing clamps

- Fixed bearing

- Slide bearing to allow axial move to allow movement caused by thermal expansions.expansions.

Calculation Criteria

• Short circuit forces

• Natural system frequency & its harmonics to avoid resonances

• Bus bar diameter

• Phase distance

• Mass of bus bar

• Bending strength
