Causes

1. Distracted Driving-Talking on the cellphone-Sending a text message-Eating-Arguments/Loud chatting

2. Speeding- Ignoring the speed limit- The faster you drive, the later your

reaction will be to stop in time to prevent an auto accident

3. Drunk Driving- Drinking makes you lose focus and

to function properly- Is very dangerous when operating

a vehicle

4. Rain- Roads become slippery- Difficult for drivers to see the other cars- Causes vehicles to spin out of control

while braking

5. Running Red Lights- Red means stop- Drivers speed up when

they approach a yellow light

- People’s excuse to this – “being in a hurry”

Impacts

- Damage to the vehicle- Tangible costs (repair costs, medical

treatment, insurance costs)- Intangible costs (pain, suffering)- Hospitalization- Handicap- Death

Solutions

1. Education- Improving a training in driving

school- Teaching students in moral

subject at school- Giving more information about

road safety to everyone

3. Campaign- Organize campaigns

about road and traffic safety to raise moral and ethics among the citizens

2. Improving Road Conditions- Government should pay more attention

to the road surface and lighting at night- The authorities should put signs at

strategic locations to warn drivers
