Teams from around Leicestershire can sign up now to a national
scheme, which has been set up to bring back half-time oranges to kids’
football.
Local FAs are supporting the project, which is calling for children’s
teams around the country to sign a pledge to bring back oranges at half
time.
It was launched in Cambridgeshire in September, where local club St
Ives Rangers was given half-time starter packs for all its children’s
teams. They will get free half-time fruit for the whole of the season.
Teams can sign up for updates and competitions as well as vouchers for
their own free or discounted half-time fruit at www.halftimejaffa.com.
Half-time starter packs – which contain a cool bag, containers for home
and away sides, as well as fruit and information – are also being sent
free to many of the teams who sign up.

Let the Children Play
They stand on the field with their hearts beating fast the whistle is blown the die has been cast
Mum and dad cannot help as they stand all alone
a goal at this moment would send them home The ball near their feet they kick and it misses
there’s a moan from the crowd some boos and some
hisses A thoughtless voice cries “take off the bum”
tears fill their eyes it’s no longer fun
If you’re ever tempted to shout or groan
remember it’s a child who stands alone
So open up your heart give them a break
it’s moments like this a player you make keep this in mind please do not forget
They’re only children not adult’s yet.
Touchline Shouting
Touchline shouting, that's all I ever hear, I'm so confused and filled with fear.
I'm only ten years old and football should be fun,
But with all this noise I don't know which way to run.
"Get back in defence!" my manager shouts.
Dad shouts, "Get up front and deal with these louts!" Loud mouth supporter, who knows all the rules.
(He takes the rest of us for fools)
Shouts, "What are you doing lad? Your head's in a
spin!"
Is it any surprise, with all this din?
I am only a boy, so why do you all try to destroy, what I'd love to enjoy?
Fair Play is the right way Let the Children Play
