THE ANCIENT ROMANS BY ANDRÉS ARÉVALO
The Ancient Rome was one of the biggest
civilizations in History.
The capital city was Rome and the
Romans conquered most Europe, North of Africa and part of Near
East.
There are three periods in the Roman Age:1. Monarchy
2. Republic
3. The Empire
They spoke latin

They built the Colosseum in Rome
They built acqueducts, like the Acqueduct of Segovia
They built bridges, like the bridge in Cangas de Onís
and the bridge in Córdoba
They believed in many gods. They took the
Greek gods and changed their names.
1. The Monarchy.
Romulus and Remus founded the city of Rome. Romulus killed Remus and became
its first king.
People elected the Senate and the Senate elected the king.
PATRICIANSThey were free people and had all the
rights.
PLEBEIANSThey were free people but didn't have many rights.They were not as rich as
Patricians.
SLAVESThey weren't free and were treated like
animals.
Family. The father ruled what happened in the house. All the family lived in the same
house (even the slaves)
The laws protected the citizens. Some of them are still valid
nowadays.
