Roy Carson Hummel82, a resident ofFarmington, Arkansaspassed away onSunday, January 17,2021. He was born onMarch 18, 1938, inRogers, Arkansas, theson of Pat and MillieHummel.

He graduated fromRogers High School,Arkansas Tech and theU. of A. where he

completed his master's in poultry science and lateragriculture education.

Roy married his wife, Betty, in 1960. He issurvived by his brother Jimmy "Pete" Hummelfrom Rogers and several nephews, a niece, andcousins. His brother, Bob Hummel of Rogers,preceded him in death.

Roy was an agriculture teacher in Farmingtonwhen he retired in 1998. He loved working withyoung people and helping them with their FFAjudging skills. He served 2 years on active duty inthe army and then was in the army reserves wherehe retired as a Lt. Colonel. Roy farmed his wholelife and enjoyed his cattle and chickens. He servedmany years as poultry superintendent at theWashington County Fair and then was a memberof the fair board where he served as secretary. Hisbest friends were Lanny Rice and Cheryl West,that he worked with many years on the fair board. He served on the Farmington City Council and ashort time on the Farmington School Board.
