Join us for a night of peace and love —The symposium will feature musical and dance performances by Middle Eastern and South Asian artists and a talk by Dr. Jawid Mojaddedi of Rutgers University on the significance and relevance of Rumi as a historical figure whose teachings have endured the test of time.

Jawid Mojaddedi, Ph.D. is Professor of Religion at Rutgers University. His area of research is early and medieval Sufism. In addition to his translations of Rumi’s poetry, he has also published the monograph Beyond Dogma: Rumi’s Teachings on Friendship with God and Early Sufi Theories.

This event is organized by the Interfaith and Spiritual Exploration Center and the Multicultural Center in co-sponsorship with ASCEND, the College of Creative and Performing Arts, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Chemical Engineering Department, Hillel, the Philosophy and Religion Studies Department, Rowan Rangeela, the Sociology and Anthropology Department, and the Writing Arts Department.
