This presentation is designed to provide information about the STaR Chart.Our agenda includes:• An introduction to the STaR Chart.• An explanation of the STaR Chart

STaR Chart Introduction
The STaR Chart is designed to help campuses and districts determine their progress towards meeting state and federal mandates:
Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020.No Child Left Behind, Title II, Part D.Required to be competed annually.
STaR Chart Introduction
The STaR Chart is an online resource tool for self-assessment of RHS’ and DISD’s efforts to effectively integrate technology across the curriculum.Developed around four key areas of the Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020.Serves as the standard for assessing technology preparedness in Texas K-12 schools.
The STaR Chart Helps RHS:
To create and/or update the district’s technology plan.To help conceptualize our campus or district vision of technology.
The STaR Chart Helps RHS:
To set benchmarks and goals. Our campus and district may use the chart to identify current education technology profiles, establish goals, and monitor progress.To measure student and teacher proficiencies with regard to the integration of technology into all content areas.
The STaR Chart Helps RHS:
Document progress toward meeting No Child Left Behind, Title II, Part D requirements for technology literacy for students and teachers as well as technology integration across the curriculum. Identify our educational technology needs as we apply for grants.
The STaR Chart Helps RHS:
To determine funding priorities. DISD administrators and policymakers can use the Texas Campus STaR Chart to determine where to allocate funds.To track progress on use of No Child Left Behind Title II, Part D formula and discretionary funds.

Early Tech
Early tech instruction is teacher-centered and studentsrarely use software applications or tutorial software for drill and practice.

Developing Tech
Developing tech is teacher-directed and students regularly use technology on an individual basis to access electronicinformation and develop communication and presentationprojects.

Advanced Tech
Advanced technology is teacher-facilitated and students work with peers and experts to evaluate information, analyze data and content in order to problem solve.
STaR Chart Ratings
Target Tech
Advanced technology where the teacher serves as facilitator, mentor, and co learner. Students have on-demand access to all appropriate technologies to complete activities that have been seamlessly integrated into all core content areas.
