Mission

To provide San Antonio’s higher educational

institutions with world class marketing expertise

and access to resources to showcase

San Antonio as a premier destination for higher

education in the minds of all stakeholders,

regardless of the course of study.

FocusProfessional Development – Provide educational and professional development programs for individuals responsible for the marketing of San Antonio’s institutions of higher education, bringing world-class experts and know how to the local market.

Students - Create a preference for San Antonio’s higher educational institutions among students of all ages, including graduating seniors and their families, retaining and attracting a greater percentage of high potential students vis-à-vis out-of-town schools. Help prospective students gain an understanding of real world career opportunities and a realistic evaluation of their suitability to ensure they select a local school and degree program that will equip them to succeed.

Public Schools – Provide secondary school educators and counselors with access to information and resources to encourage them to recommend local schools as a desirable destination for all students, and particularly high-potential students.

Faculty - Increase the attractiveness of San Antonio and its institutions to support the recruitment of leading educators, researchers and industry leaders.

Employers – Showcase the preparedness of San Antonio’s workforce to assist in the attraction of new businesses to San Antonio, while promoting local talent for a wide range of jobs over out-of-town candidates.

Press – Secure increased and ongoing favorable media and press coverage of San Antonio’s varied educational institutions and the city’s overall education environment as a sought-after destination for higher education.

• Stamats– Stamats is a higher education marketing consultant for

colleges and universities with their goals for recruiting students and raising funds.

– Oversees the SIG’s development and serves as a liaison to the SA-AMA Board of Directors.

and the SIG’s volunteers.

2010-2011 Tasks• Initiate bimonthly “Executive Committee” meetings

– Create a board/committee/council

• Build a programming schedule – At least 3 luncheons with a speaker or panel to discuss

“hot topics” in the higher education marketing industry– Regular networking socials

• Create curriculum for “Higher Ed Marketing Mastery Series”– 8 sessions culminating in an official certificate of

completion
