Stewardship Message
You Can Give Without Loving. But You Cannot Love Without Giving — Amy Carmichael With that thought, please remember to call, text, or email family members and friends, especially those who live alone, to let them know that someone is concerned and cares. Also, do not forget, to please drop off or send in your financial contribution for our Parish. The building expenses remain even though we cannot currently attend Mass. Our ancestors worked very hard to come to America, build a church, and pass their faith onto us. Hopefully, we can honor their hard work, by continuing what they began, and by living our Catholic faith.

Act of Spiritual Communion Prayer:
My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.
Lent Within a Lent
We are now two plus weeks into these unprecedented
times within the Church of having no public Masses to
attend, not being able to receive Holy Communion,
spend time in Adoration, or even pray the Stations of
the Cross together as a parish family. We as human
beings are not meant to be alone. We are social beings,
we thrive on being together, on being in communion
with one another for a specific purpose. That is why we
are so hungry to attend Mass and to receive Jesus in the
Holy Eucharist.
We entered into this Lenten season like any other.
Little did we know or expect that we would be thrust
much deeper into and beyond our original Lenten
sacrifices. In one of my conversations with Fr Jeff
before his stroke, he referred to this as a Lent within a
Lent. It appears now that it may continue well past
Easter.
Just as we entered into the desert with Jesus at the
beginning of Lent, and at the end of the forty days in
the desert Jesus was hungry, we to find ourselves
hungry for the physical, attending Mass, and the
spiritual, receiving the Eucharist. But it is okay to be
hungry, it brings about a deeper longing and
appreciation for that for which we hunger.
What a beautiful time to strengthen our common union
with our Creator and with Jesus through sacrifice, not
only the sacrifices that we voluntarily offered to give-up
at the beginning of Lent, but those that have been
imposed upon us.
Trust always in the will of the Father. We are created
for more than the comforts of this earthly life. He
desires nothing more than for us to be in heaven with
Him one day. Use this time to grow closer to Him
through prayer and sacrifice. Offer your “hunger” to
God and he will feed you spiritually through His Word.
The daily readings seem to speak more loudly than ever
this Lent. Watch and truly pray one of the many Masses
online or on television. Make a spiritual communion
from your heart, offer a sincere Act of Contrition from
your heart, both with the intent of returning to each
sacrament as soon as possible.
These may seem like dark times, but they are truly a
time of light if you seek Him who is light. Allow yourself
the gift of falling into a deeper love with our Lord. Ask
the Father to feed your hunger in these times and He
will satisfy you.
