REMEMBRANCE There are fields
where poppies bloom this time of year.
There are acres where flags flutter in the
breeze. There are plots of land studded
with the rows of stone upon stone carved
with the names of the fallen and the rank
they wore on the uniform that was theirs.
Even as the numbers of those who have
served in one war fade away, they are
replenished by those who have served in a
new one. Those who survive take the
place of those who have gone, and
remember the service rendered by the
dead. The graves are hallowed by the
blood of heroes, and decorated by the
survivors of wars now ended. We gather in remembrance,
knowing that the service we give to fallen heroes is
memorial to their love of freedom and ultimate sacrifice for
us.
Last Sunday’s Offerings St. Mary’s: In Adult Envelopes $5,801.00
Loose $2,660.00
Total $8,461.00

ST. MARY’S / ST. PAUL’S CHURCH BINGHAMTON, NY MAY 27, 2018
FAMILY PERSPECTIVE...In today’s gospel Jesus
commands, “Teach them to carry out everything I have
commanded you.” This command is meant for every
Christian. In light of this command, parenting is not only
the most difficult task a person can take on, it is also one of
the most apostolic and missionary tasks. Jesus commands
all parents to teach their children “all that I have
commanded you.”
