Salford Law @ Salford Business School is offering two LL.M (Master of Laws) programmes from September 2014:
•LL.M International Commercial Law•LL.M International Business Law

LL. M International Commercial Law
•This programme is for those with a first degree in law or equivalent.
•The LL.M in International Commercial Law is designed to immerse the post-graduate student in more detailed aspects of international commercial law, as well as developing broadly applicable legal research skills.
• This course is suitable for recent home, EU and overseas law graduates wishing to build upon their undergraduate knowledge and expertise, as well as graduate returners to education wishing to refresh or broaden their knowledge and skills.
• The course will suit those in particular who wish to pursue a career in international legal practice or pursue further study.

• Open to non-law graduates

•The course is suitable for a wide range of recent home, EU and overseas law and non-law graduates as well as professional returners to higher education.
•The course will suit those who wish to pursue a career in international business or legal practice.

Block Delivery Mechanism
•The block delivery mechanism enables candidates employed to study one or more modules in a cost - and time – efficient mode
•Candidates can complete one or more modules per semester
•The course is delivered in four blocks of three day intensive study periods, followed by independent study and online support through the University’s virtual learning environment, Blackboard
•Each module is studied and assessed over a six week block
•Teaching is delivered through a combination of lectures, seminars and tutorials, using a wide range of learning activities
Assessment
•Each taught module is assessed by two pieces of work, each worth 50% of the overall course assessment
•Assessments designed to enable students to demonstrate their advanced knowledge and skill, and may include:
I.Individual or group work
II.Research based assignments
III.Presentations
Employability – LL.M International Commercial Law
•For UK and overseas, the internationally focused LL.M is a sought after qualification for entry into the commercial/corporate legal profession.
•In the corporate business world, the LL.M carries a similar cachet to
the Executive MBA, while offering greater specialism in its content.
•In many European jurisdictions, the LL.M is a compulsory
prerequisite for entry into the legal profession.
•It provides the successful candidate with a recognized
postgraduate qualification in International Commercial Law.
Employability – LL.M International Business Law
• This postgraduate course provides students with analytical and reflective skills and expertise in international business law.
• In the corporate business world, the LL.M carries a similar cachet to the Executive MBA, while offering greater specialism in its content.

Entry requirements
• LL.M International Commercial Law
Normally an undergraduate degree, class 2:2 or above, in Law, or
an equivalent level professional qualification.
• LL.M International Business Law Normally an undergraduate degree in Law or any other appropriate discipline, at class 2.2 or above, or a relevant equivalent level professional qualification.
