Major Expansions and Relocations
Dallas–Fort Worth is regularly identified as one of the nation’s top markets for new and expanded corporate facilities. DFW attracts an impressive list of companies that spans diverse industries. Recent relocations to Dallas–Fort Worth have included headquarters moves for Fortune 500 and Forbes Top Private companies such as GGNSC Holdings/Golden Living, Fluor Corp., Comerica and AT&T. Expansions range from important new distribution or logistics centers for such companies as Restoration Hardware, BMW, Quaker Oats and Amazon to new offices for Kohl’s, State Farm and TEK Systems to name a few. New manufacturing facilities included expansions by companies in the food and beverage industry such as White Wave, and other major manufacturers such as Motorola Mobility, which opened the first smartphone manufacturing facility in the United States in Fort Worth.

AAA Texas (HQ) is expanding its headquarters to Coppell adding up to 200 employees to its operations.
Associa (HQ), an association management �rm plans to hire 700 as it consolidates national operations in Richardson.
Accudyne Industries (HQ) plans to move its headquarters to Dallas from Connecticut.
Alco (HQ), a Kansas based general merchandise retailer with nearly $500 million in annual sales, relocated its corporate headquarters to Coppell.
Amazon (Distribution) announced plans for two regional distribution centers, totaling more than 2 million square feet, in Alliance (Haslet) and in Coppell, creating 1,000 fulfillment jobs.
BMW of North America (Distribution) constructed a new 300,000-square-foot parts distribution facility in Lancaster.
Ciao Telecom (HQ), the Emeryville, CA-based global telecommunications provider, relocated its North American headquarters to Dallas.
Big Brothers Big Sisters (HQ) is relocating its national headquarters from Philadephia, and will join their international chapter in Irving.
GM (Manufacturing), built a new $200 million stamping facility to produce vehicle body panel parts, hiring 200 new workers at its existing auto plant.
Hexaware (O�ce), a New Jersey-based provider of IT & BPO services and consulting, opened a global delivery center in Frisco, hiring 150 engineers.
Home Depot (O�ce) opened an IT o�ce in Irving. The Atlanta-based company will initially employ 80 engineers at this new location but plans to increase the number of employees to 130 by 2014.
Humana Inc. (O�ce), a Louisville-based health and wellness company, opened an Irving mail-order-pharmacy call center and support operation., creating more than 620 jobs over the next three years..
Kohls (O�ce), the department store retailer plans to create up to 1,500 jobs by 2018 at a customer service operations center in Dallas.
loanDepot.com (HQ), an online mortgage lender, will expand its California-based operations with dual headquarters in Plano, creating 500 jobs in the next three years.
Motorola Mobility (Manufacturing) opened a smartphone assembly plant in far north Fort Worth hiring 2,000 workers. It is the �rst smartphone manufacturing facility in the United States.
Navarre (HQ), one of Minnesota’s 50 largest public companies, is relocating its headquarters from New Hope to Richardson.
Neovia Logistics Services (HQ), a global logistics company is moving its headquarters from Illinois to North Texas, bringing more than 200 jobs to Irving-Las Colinas.
NTT Data Inc. (HQ), a Japan-based IT firm, opened its North American corporate headquarters in Plano and plans to start out with about 45 employees in the new operation.
Raytheon (HQ) plans to move its Space and Airborne Systems unit headquarters from El Segundo, California, to McKinney. The relocation of the $6 billion business unit will add an estimated 170 jobs.
Restoration Hardware (Distribution) will open an 850,000-square-foot distribution and call center in Grand Prairie creating more than 300 jobs.
Taleris (HQ), an Accenture and GE Aviation joint venture opened its global headquarters in Irving and is expecting to hire 100 employees during its first year.
TeleTech (O�ce), a leading global provider of technology-enabled customer experience solutions, expanded operations to Ennis creating 400 new jobs.
Trend Micro Inc. (HQ), a Japan-based technology security firm, moved its U.S. headquarters to Irving, relocating nearly 35 employees from the Cupertino California corporate o�ce.
Trader Joe’s (Distribution) opened a distribution center on 38.8 acres in Irving. The center will create more than 200 jobs in the area.
