Creating Happy WorkplacesSamu Hällfors – Framery World Conference

Happiness ≠ Cheerfulness

What is happiness?

Happiness is a mental or emotional state of

well-being defined by positive or pleasant

emotions ranging from contentment to

intense joy. Happy mental states may also

reflect judgements by a person about their

overall well-being.

In the end, work either increases or decreases your overall happiness.

So, how did we end up Creating Happy Workplaces?

I love the new phone booths. I hope we can have a couple per floor. They are even useful for having a small break in silence. Right now I’m inside one of them.

BRILLIANT!!!! It is WAY better than the 1-person slots in the conference room areas.

LOVE the phone booths. This floor has no other space that a person can go to take private calls and the phone booths have provided that space now. THANK YOU!

SELF ACTUALIZATION

ESTEEM NEEDS

BELONGINGNESS AND LOVE NEEDS

Safety needs

Physiological needs

As a workplace we needed to strengthen these

As a company we needed to understand this

To increase overall happiness a company needs:

Common goal

Common enemy

Strong common identity

Tools for individuals to reach their fullest potential

How do you know if you’re increasing happiness or not?

Did you have a good day at work?

Are we increasing your overall happiness a workplace?

Our job is to provide tools for individuals to reach their full potential

A Practical Guide To Phone Booth Placing

Divide the floor plan to smaller hubs based on teams or activities.

People tend to be lazy, so spaces for collaboration and focused work should be available as close to their desk as possible

Always respect the user and her needs, booths should be placed where users spend their time, a café perhaps?

Thank you for attending Framery World Conference 2017!
