SAVE THE CHILDREN
~ Save the Children is an international relief and development organization.
~ It first began in the United Kingdom in 1919 and was founded by Dorothy Buxton and Eglantyne Jebb.
~ The sisters decided that more practical help was needed; they formed the Fight Famine Council.

TODAY!~ Works are based around the rights of children and listed in the United Nations Conventions.
~ Also try to work on a wider basis; aiming to achieve lasting changes in children’s rights.
~ Run a variety of programs throughout the world to: improve the health of mothers & children, help in breastfeeding, and HIV/AIDS prevention and care.
CHILD PROTECTION
~ Girls and boys in every country of the world face abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence.
~ Save the Children works to prevent all forms of abuse and neglect.
~ Operate Child Friendly spaces for children.
~ To protect children, they work with governments, international organizations and local community partners.
CHILD EDUCATION~ Save the Children’s goal is to achieve universal primary education by 2015.
~ Focus on: early childhood care and development of basic primary and secondary education.
~ Save the Children Foundation eliminates barriers to education so that every girl and boy has the chance to go to school.
~ They focus their efforts on the most at risk children.
CHILD HEALTH & NUTRITION
~ Save the Children works to improve the health and nutrition of children worldwide.
~ Address the major causes of illness and malnutrition.
~ They also train community health workers to identify and treat the biggest killers of children.
~ Operate and support programs for infants and young child breast feeding & parent-child bonding.
