Main messages

• Goal of the evaluation: ensure best proposals get funded

− All proposals compete against each other; for many topics few will be funded

− Use the full range of scores

− Use maximum score only when proposal is truly excellent for that criterion

• No negotiation: the proposal becomes the project

− Any shortcomings should be reflected in the scores

• Independence of expert: ensures all proposals treated equally

− You have been selected for your very particular expertise. You evaluate in a personal capacity, independent of your country, organisation, personal interest

− We count on you to report any possible Conflict of Interest

Thank you for your attention

and

Good luck with the remote evaluation!
