Section Violin I & 2 Audition

Information and Repertoire

Auditions will be held on Friday, May 17th, 2019 in Hensdale Chapel at Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC. Auditions will be blind.

To sign-up for an audition time, please email a copy of your resume to Monica Thiriot, at operations@fayettevillesymphony.org no later than Friday, April 26th. Warm up rooms available in advance of your audition time.

PLEASE NOTE:

Any position with the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra is a per-service, non-tenure track position, and is not salaried.

All auditioning candidates will be considered for both a section Violin I & 2 positions, as well as the sub list, unless otherwise indicated.

Violin Audition Repertoire

I. Exposition of a major violin concerto, including: Mendelssohn, Brahms, Mozart 4 or 5, Sibelius, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Beethoven, Bartok, Elgar, or Prokofiev (Others please consult)

II. Orchestral Excerpts: o Strauss: Don Juan
