With the new pro-

for the trophies, we
were able to pur-
chase 4 new easy-up
tents for the club, as
well as the new
trailer reported on in
pages 2 and 3, while
still having funds to
carry the club
through the next
year! Yes we will still
be able to do our
normal support of
the Boys and Girls
Club and the schol-
arships in the spring!
Not bad !!!

On page 2 there are four
pictures of your old club
trailer showing the state of
disrepair that had effected it
over the years. The trailer is
so old that we can find no
records of it’s origin in the
club’s history. The wooden
box would have had to be
totally scrapped and re-
placed at a cost of close to a
thousand dollars. The water
damage shown in views
three and four also indicate
the damage that was being
transferred to the contents
during storage.
The pictures at the bottom
of page two show the 2005
Car Mate trailer that we
found at Croft Trailers in
Glen Aubrey. This trailer has
not been registered since
new as it had been used by
the owner of Croft to trans-
port his Grandson’s motor-
cross cycles to the races.
The trailer measures 6X10
and has both a man door on
the right side as well as a
ramp door on the rear.
There is a roof vent in the
center of the roof for ventilation during
the heat of summer, and both a new
tire on the left side and a spare tire
mounted on the front.
The lettering on the trailer is vinyl and
should be able to be removed with
some heat and elbow grease. Once
cleaned of the previous owner’s adver-
tising, we can apply our logo to bring
more attention to our club.
The corners and wheel fenders are all
aluminum diamond plate, a material that
will not rust. The sides are also painted
aluminum. The interior consists of ply-
wood with 2X4 studs on 16 inch cen-
ters. This construction will permit us to
create shelving and divisions to hold all
our show materials in a neat configura-
tion.
The decision to purchase this new
trailer came after a phone canvas of
better than fifty percent of the club
members. The new cost for a trailer
equipped in this fashion would be close
to $4,000.00 but this unit cost us just
$1,700.00 plus tax bringing the final
cost to $1,836.00. With the amount of
use we put our trailer to, we believe
this unit will be of service for 10 or
more years.
Your New Trailer
Work Days The purchase of our new trailer is of course good news, but that means that we need
to finish the disassembly of our old trailer so it can be properly disposed of. We also
need to take some time to organize the storage in the new trailer. The old trailer can
be scraped at Weitzman’s if it has been stripped of all wood. They will even pay us
for the metal that exists, making the expense of the new trailer a little less.
The new trailer has more room than the old one but there is no shelving or other divi-
sions inside. A well organized interior will make it easy to find the contents as
needed while the present haphazard collection means hours of work to find a desired
sign or other item.
The above said, We need to get together and prepare both trailers for their future use.
I propose that we have a few work days to accomplish the needed goals. We need to
start with the disassembly of the old starting Saturday September 7, 2013 at my
home with three or four of us working it should not take more than a couple of
hours. Lets start about 10:00AM. We can also look at the new trailer and begin to de-
sign the interior shelving which we can build at our next session. Hopefully we can
continue working the next Saturday, Sept. 21st on the interior of the new trailer.
The main tools we will need for the deconstruction are battery powered drill drivers
and one or two good step ladders. We also could add to our profits by collecting any
scrap metal you might laying around to the trailer before we deliver it to Weitzman.
Our new trailer is both roomy and watertight so we will have protection and organi-
zation for our signs, tents, and sundry items we use at the car show. It will speed up
the preparations for set up if we can walk in to the trailer and pick up the materials
without sorting through a pile of jumbled and mixed confusion. The construction of
the shelving for the new trailer might take a day or two of work.
We need to work together now to make our future car shows and Flea Markets more
manageable. See you for these work days!!!Thank You for helping!!!
