Have you ever prayed for alittle help from the
heavens onan English
test? Wouldyou believe that
the Bible confirmsthat God iscompletely able to
give youknowledge andunderstanding of allkinds of literature
and learning? Thatsstraight out of Danielchapter one. The Bible
says, To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of allkinds of literature and learning. So now youre wishing you were one of those fourmen. Well, guess what? You can have the same help from God they did. In order todo so, you must first understand why God chose to bless them in such a way. Then, you must apply the same principles in your life that Daniel and his friendsapplied in theirs.
First of all, Daniel was obedient to God. When the kings officer tried to getDaniel to eat meat that had prayers to false gods offered over it, Daniel decided he
would not dishonor God by eating it. Your words and actions at school and athome must bring honor to God. Bad jokes, cursing, and fighting are just a few ofthe things that dishonor God and keep you from receiving His help with learning.Decide to obey God and let your actions bring honor to Him through obedience ofHis word.
Next, Daniel had faith in God. Daniel convinced the kings officer to let he and hisfriends eat vegetables for ten days. After that, Daniel told the officer to treat thembased on what he saw. If they didnt look healthier, their lives were probably goingto be in danger. Thats quite a risk, but Daniel trusted God. After ten days theylooked healthier than all the other men who had been eating the meat offered to thefalse gods. Daniels trust and his obedience caused God to bless him withknowledge and wisdom. Be obedient to God and trust Him even when someonemakes fun of you. You might just find yourself in the same spot as Daniel. TheBible says the king found none equal to Daniel and his friends. Thats what youcall a heavenly grade!

Attention Nursery and KidLife Jr. Parents
Starting September 8, 2013
We are excited to announce Nursery and KidLife Jr. willbe having a new check in process. As you are aware, the
security and safety of our church family is very important
to us. We are improving both the arrival and departure pro-
cedures of these classes. Thank you for helping us to en-
sure the safety of your children.

your child on the clipboard, fill out a sticker and take a
pager that matches the number on the sign in paper. Com-
plete the sign in process by placing the identification stick-
er on the back of your child. A worker will take your child
and their belongings into class. The same person who
drops off your child must pick up them up, sign out on the

Getting a new school year off to a good start can influence childrens attitude, confidence, and performance both socially and academically. Thetransition from August to September can be difficult for both children and parents. Even children who are eager to return to class must adjust to
the greater levels of activity, structure, and, for some, pressures associated with school life.
Here are a few suggestions to help ease the transition and promote a successful school experience.
Review all of the information. Review the material sent by the school as soon as it arrives. These packets include important information aboutyour childs teacher, room number, school supply requirements, sign ups for after-school sports and activities, school calendar dates, bus trans-portation, health and emergency forms, and volunteer opportunities.
Make copies. Make copies of all your childs health and emergency information for reference. Health forms are typically good for more than ayear and can be used again for camps, extracurricular activities, and the following school year.
Visit school with your child. If your child is young or in a new school, visit the school with your child. Meeting the teacher, locating their class-room, locker, lunchroom, etc., will help ease pre-school anxieties and also allow your child to ask questions about the new environment. Callahead to make sure the teachers will be available to introduce themselves to your child.
Set alarm clocks. Have school-age children set their own alarm clocks to get up in the morning. Praise them for prompt response to morningschedules and bus pickups.
Reinforce your childs ability to cope. Give your child a few strategies to manage a difficult situation on his or her own. But encourage your childto tell you or the teacher if the problem persists. Maintain open lines of communication with the school.
Let your children know you care. If your child is anxious about school, send personal notes in the lunch box or book bag. Reinforce the ability tocope. Children absorb their parents anxiety, so model optimism and confidence for your child. Let your child know that it is natural to be a littlenervous anytime you start something new but that your child will be just fine once he or she becomes familiar with classmates, the teacher, andschool routine.
Hi, everyone! Exciting things are happening around KidLife!
Sometime this fall KidLife will be moving from the trailer into thechurch building, bringing our whole ministry under one roof! Wehave a lot of fun construction projects up our sleeves before

follow once they are in the main building also. Please take a minute to read the enclosed in-structions and give us your full cooperation on Sundays! Its for the safety of your kids and thegrowth of our ministry! We appreciate it!
