LifeWilliam Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1564 where he studied. He married Anne Hathaway in 1582. They had three children, Susanna and the twins Judith and Hamnet, who died at the age of 11.

Between 1585 and 1592 he started a career as an actor and a writer. He became the owner of a theatrical company, Lord Chamberlain’s Men, together with other actors. They later became The King’s Men. They built a theatre next to the river Thames called the Globe

His early plays were mainly comedies and histories. Towards the beginning of the 16th century he wrote mainly tragedies. He also wrote poetry.

He moved to Stratford some years before his death where he died on 23rd of April of 1616. He is buried in Holy Trinity Church in Stratford.
