GETTING ACCESS
• ODOT employees who want access should email Mark Byram.
• You will be sent login instructions
• It was originally intended to give all SHIFT users accounts, but we didn’t want everyone hitting the application during the training.

LIMITATION: SHIFT IS FOR LOW RISK PROJECTS
• What are Low Risk Projects?• Projects whose design is relatively insensitive to the forecasted traffic and/or not
controversial.
• Usually PDP path 1&2 and maybe 3. Potentially useful to help determine the path.
• These are mostly maintenance projects such as• Culverts
• Resurfacing
• Deck repairs
• Noise wall panel replacement
• Slip repairs
• Etc.

LIMITED TO STATE, US, INTERSTATE ROUTES
• Ramps are excluded for now.
• This could change in the future.
• Application is designed to be expandable to include all routes.
• Consistency between route segments is not guaranteed.

BASE – ANNUAL STATEWIDE FORECAST
• Current forecast base 2020, 2040 (next year’s update will extend years)
• Segmentation
• Historic volumes
• Incorporation of statewide model
• When? – Late Spring.
• Why? - Incorporate last year’s counts and any model updates.

Note: Saved lists are cleared with the annual update.
- Graphical selection and query by County-Route-Milepost
• Generate Report – sends email with link to .pdf report
