What is Mass Upload?

INTRODUCTION

Our Mass Upload function on Seller Centre is the easiest way for you to upload your products onto Shopee! Now you can upload hundreds of products at one go, instead of creating them one-by-one. Precious time saved, we know :)

This user guide serves to illustrate the steps required for you to use this function effectively. We hope this helps!

MASS UPLOAD TEMPLATE GUIDE

What are Mass Upload Template and Product List?Mass Upload Template is a .xlsm worksheet with an in-file validation tool to help you check the inputs before exporting to Product List.

Product List is an Excel file generated from Mass Upload Template. It contains all your product details that passed the validity check.

Product List is also the file to be uploaded in Seller Centre.

A maximum of 500 products can be uploaded in one Product List. If you input more than 500 products, only the first 500 will be uploaded.

How to fill in Mass Upload Template?

Do not touch template headers.

Fill in the details accordingly.

The header row shows all the fields needed.

The second row provides guidelines on how to fill each corresponding column.

Click on “Enable edit” to exit Protected View and “Enable content” to enable validation tool.

Input your product details from third row onwards.

Click “Validate” to check if the values added meet the guidelines.

The validation tool will highlight the incorrect field in red.

1. CATEGORY CODE

Accepted Format: Numbers (integers) only

Explanation: Download* the latest Category List from import products page. Always use the latest list as it may change from time to time.

Example: Valid input: 65 Invalid input: a12

2. PRODUCT NAME

Accepted Format: String of letters, numbers and punctuations with max. 80 characters (space included)

Explanation: Keep the name concise and straightfoward to show necessary information only.

Example: Recommended: Sony VAIO 15’’ Laptop Not recommended: BEST PRICE!!! *CHEAP!!* LAPTOP!!

3. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Accepted Format: String of letters, numbers and punctuations with max. 3,000 characters (space included)

Explanation: Show all details that buyers may want to know about this product.

4. PRICE

Accepted Format: Numbers only Range: 0.10 - 999,999,999.99

Explanation: This column is mandatory for products without variation. If the product has variations, you may leave this cell empty.

Example: Valid input: 192.4 Invalid input: 30.5 +/- 5.5

5. STOCK

Accepted Format: Numbers (integers) only Range: 1 - 999,999

Explanation: This column is mandatory for products without variation. If the product has variations, you may leave this cell empty.

Example: Valid input: 517 Invalid input: 50.5 Invalid input: In Stock

6. PRODUCT WEIGHT (IN KG) (OPTIONAL)

Accepted Format: Numbers only Range: 0.01 - 50

Explanation: Product Weight is used for calculating shipping fees. This will be converted and displayed in "Shipping Fee" on the product detail page.

Example: Valid input: 2, 47.8, 236.95 Invalid input: Heavy, Small, Size of an Iphone 6S

7. SHIP OUT IN

Accepted Format: Numbers (integers) only Range: 1 - 30

Explanation: This is your estimated no. of days needed to prepare shipment. If left blank, it will be set to the default value of 3. Note that payment release date is subject to when your buyer receives and accepts the order. This will also depend on how long it takes to prepare the shipment.

Example: Valid input: 5 Invalid input: 4.5 Invalid input: One week

8. VARIATIONS (OPTIONAL)

To make a variation valid, its product name, price and stock must be complete.

Each product supports up to 10 variations.

All variations of one product will be showed under that same product on the product page. Read on to find out more on how to set each variation.

If your product does not have any variations, you can ignore this field and proceed to the next product.If your product has variations, please continue to complete the details. Please note that for product with variations, the previous product price/stock entries will be overwritten.

8A. VARIATION NAME

Accepted Format: String of letters, numbers and punctuations with max. 20 characters (space included)

Explanation: Variation name should be unique within the same product. For example: If the product comes in different sizes and colours, you are advised to put each under a different variation: Red XS, Red S, Red M, Red L, Blue XS, Blue S ...

8B. VARIATION PRICE

Accepted Format: Numbers only Range: 0.10-999,999,999.99

Example: Valid input: 192.4 Invalid input: 30.5 +/- 5.5

8C. VARIATION STOCK

Accepted Format: Numbers (integers) only Range: 1 - 999,999

Explanation: The final stock count for a product with variations is based on the sum of stock count across all variations relating to the same product.

Example: Valid input: 517 Invalid input: 50.5 Invalid input: In Stock

9. MASS IMAGE URL UPLOAD

Accepted Format: Image URLs that end with .jpeg, .jpg or .png

Explanation: Images hosted online will be extracted automatically from the input address Please ensure that it is publicly accessible

How to export Product List from Mass Upload Template?

Click “Validate” to check the values when you finish (if the value is incorrect, the validation tool will highlight the field in red).

Click “Export”.

A new excel sheet (Product List) will be generated.

In the pop-up, select the destination folder that you want your Product List to be saved.

Your Product List will be saved asShopee_mass_upload_product_list_[time]_[date].xlsas default file name.

Note that you won’t be able to export Product List if there are invalid fields in Mass Upload Template.

* Please correct all highlighted �elds!

Now you have the Product List ready! Upload it on to Shopee Seller Centre.

STEP 1

Click on “Batch Actions” on My Products page in Shopee Seller Centre.

Select “Add New Products” in the dropdown list.

Download the Excel Template.

Fill in product information in the template.

Put product image URL in the Image [1-9] columns: - Support image type include: JPEG,JPG,PNG- For Google Drive URL, please set the drive to be public before uploading pictures.

“Validate” the template and modify incorrect input.

Click on “Export” to generate the file for uploading.

Upload the exported file.

If you have input Image URLs in the Image columns in your Product List, we will begin to

automatically extract the images.

If no Image URL is detected, we will proceed to the next step.

Wait for downloading images from the URL, “Refresh” the page if needed.

Click on “Save all” if all images are uploaded.

Click on “Publish all” after confirmation.

COMMON ERRORS AND SOLUTIONS

Shopee Seller Centre does not accept new imports if there are unpublished products remaining.

Please clear all unpublished products by deleting them or publishing them.

This is done to help sellers organize product listings properly.

Why can’t I upload new Product List?

1) Shopee Seller Centre does not accept new imports if there are unpublished products remaining.

COMMON ERRORS AND SOLUTIONS

Currently, only Product List in .xls (default format exported from Mass Upload Template) and .xlsx are supported. Seller Centre will not be able to recognize other file formats and hence reject the file.

Ensure that you check the file extension before uploading.

Why can’t I upload new Product List?
