Should the transportation of animals to slaughter, be improved?

The transportation of animals from the farms to slaughter houses has so much room for improvement.
Most important factors in transporting
• Animal condition• How many animals are being transported• Distance of transport
Good management combined with well-designed equipment must be used together to insure adequate
animal welfare during transport and slaughter
Most animals are transported in double deck trailers. These trailers are fine for goats, sheep, and pigs. They’re not suitable for horses and
cows.

• No longer valuable as a racehorse or a broodmare — she gave birth to nine foals—she fell down among the legs and hooves of the other slaughter-bound horses, and was pummeled as she struggled beneath them, writhing in the shavings and manure.

Trailers that are traveling long distances require a rest stop every
32 hours.
The most over looked factor of animals on the way to the
slaughter house, is there condition.
