What's New?With this Speedfax, Siemens Energy &Automation is proud to announce severalnew products. These new conceptsserve the OEM and power distributionmarkets.

CE MarkingA wide range of Sentron®thermalmagnetic circuit breakers has been fullytested for compliance with the Europeancommunity's Low Voltage Directive, andcarry the CE mark, indicating theircompliance with that directive. These arenoted in the Speedfax with the stylizedCE in watermark behind the catalognumbers. Declarations of conformity areavailable for these products. A point ofmisunderstanding lies in the area ofhandle operators. A handle operatoralone, such as that for the Max-flex,since there is no applicable EuropeanDirective, may not carry the CE mark. Themark is affixed to the finished equipmentthat incorporates the handle, but not tothis component device.

Sensitrip Ammeter Display Unit

The Ammeter display for the Sensitrip®electronic trip family of breakers brings anew level of diagnostic capability even tonon-interconnected breakers. Having aninternal clock calendar, it can record thedate and time of each trip event thatoccurs. Other products rely on beingconnected in a full network to time stampevents. This exclusive patented Siemensdevice provides current metering andbreaker-trip diagnostic informationwithout expensive networks.

PLC Level Auxiliary SwitchesA new family of gold flashed auxiliaryswitches for the FD through ND breakersallows sensing at very low voltage andcurrents for interface directly toprogrammable logic controllers and otherelectronic devices. Standard contacts,built to switch 120 Volts and highercurrents can be unreliable when the

sensing current is in the milliamp range,and the sensing voltage is 12 Volts orlower. These very reliable low levelswitches overcome that limitation.Standard switch contacts should, ofcourse, continue to be used in standardcurrent and voltage applications

DIN Rail mounted 120/240 V Breaker

Rotary Handle Operators for CQD

The Siemens BO breakers are nowavailable in 1 -and 2-pole construction,from 15 to 60 Amps in lug in - lug outDIN rail mounted configuration. Thesebreakers, rated 120/240 Volts, are idealfor applications in control panels andHVAC, and with their available finger safeterminal shields can qualify as servicedisconnects.

QJ Walking Beam Interlock

Answering the growing need for 120/240and 240 Volt standby power systems,Siemens introduces the walking beaminterlock for the QJ family of 240 Voltcircuit breakers. Useful in the cell towerand other commercial applications, theQJ walking beam allows interlocking two2 pole beakers mounted using only 4 polewidths, or two 3 pole breakers using 6pole widths. Please consult the factoryfor availability.

Both fixed and variable depth handleoperators are available for the CQDbreaker. These make the CQD aparticularly attractive product for use incontrol panels and similar configurations
