Introduction

On October 22, 2017 - 500 divers from all over the world will be diving and protesting at the Satil wreck in Eilat, speaking up in the name of sharks in a once-in-a-lifetime underwater protest.

This will be the “D-Dive” of the SILENCE OF THE SHARKS project, which is famous worldwide. Such a huge underwater happening has yet to be carried out and it will be widely covered by international media.

About project “SILENCE OF THE SHARKS”SILENCE OF THE SHARKS is a global underwater protest against shark hunting and culling. It is composed of a series of mass dives held in many different countries around the world during 2016 and 2017.

Each dive is an underwater protest hosting hundreds of divers speaking up in the name of sharks using posters, flags and banners.

The most festive “D-Dive”, planned for October 22,2017, will host more than 500 divers and will beheld as part of a global shark-saving event and conference.

The first “SILENCE OF THE SHARKS” diveThe first SILENCE OF THE SHARKS protest-dive was held in Eilat, Israel, on December 18th, 2015, hosting divers from all over the world. A festive ceremony announced the official opening of the project.

Similar underwater protests now follow in other countries.

“SILENCE OF THE SHARKS” at boot Dusseldorf 2016Meanwhile, boot Dusseldorf, the world’s largest watersports trade fair, featured this project on a 25-meter exhibition wall near the central stage of the diving rena.The project was also introduced on stage twice a day, inviting all divers and diving organizations from all over the world to join the protest.

ONLINE EXPOSURE

A decent budget will be invested in online promotion of the project.For instance, our first introductory video, presenting the SILENCE OF THE SHARKS project, has already reached more than 700,000 Facebook users.

The Conference and “D-Dive”

On October 19, an official 2-day shark conference will be held in Eilat, Israel, hosting some of the world’s most famous environmentalists.

The conference will discuss plans of action to be executed before it’s too late for the sharks.

The Conference and “D-Dive”On October 22, the final and largest dive of the “SILENCE OF THE SHARKS” project will be carried out.

It will host more than 500 divers from all over the world, diving together at the famous Satil wreck, equipped with flags, banners and ads calling against shark culling.

The dive will be documented by a team of professional underwater photographers and will be widelycovered by international media.

The mass dive planned for October 22ed will beheld in memory of Eugiene Clark, also known as the Shark Lady, who was an American ichthyologist famous worldwide for her pioneer research on the behavior of sharks.

Green BrandingAll organizations taking part in this project will be promoted as partners before, during and after the event, thereby branding the company as green and environmentally aware.

• The conference will be concluding discussions and finalizing the action plan.

• In the evening, all divers planned to participate in the “D-Dive” will be briefed regarding safety procedures and logistics.

• 10:30 – All hundreds of divers meet at Eilat’s Village Beach. The Mayor of Eilat welcome the participants to the D-Dive.

• 11:30 – Divers, equipped with flags, march together towards the anchored boats.• 12:30 – Divers leave towards the wreck and the D-Dive begins!
