Mid-TermAsweenterthemid-termforSemester1,wehavealottocelebrateatSirWilliamOsler.OnNovember7th,wecelebratedour44thCommencement,where25graduatescrossedthestage.Wewishthembestwishesintheirpost-Oslerendeavors.
WealsosawanamazingHalloweenandcelebratedourCharacterEducationsawards.OurstudentshavecompetedinSoccer,Cross-CountryandBasketballtournaments,andcreatedaspecialRemembranceDayAssembly.Ournewhydroponicgrowingtowershavebeensuccessfullyharvestingandcontributingtoourfoodschool.InOctoberourStudentsandstaffcompetedinaStudent-StaffBasketballgame.Itwasagreatgamewiththescoretooclosetocallinaveryevenlymatchedevent.

Non-CreditCourseshaveacommentthatstartswith“ThispercentagemarkisbasedonachievementofthelearningexpectationsspecifiedintheIEP,whichdiffersignificantlyfromthecurriculumexpectationsforthecourse.”Themarkonthereportcardindicateshowyourchildisprogressingongoalsdescribedinyourchild’sIEP.
ThemarkonareportcardforaCreditCourseindicateshowyourchildisprogressingontheministryexpectationsforthecourse.CreditsearnedcontributetotheOntarioSecondarySchoolDiploma(requiring30credits)ortheOntarioSecondarySchoolCertificate(requiring14credits).

FestiveBrunchTheresultsarein!OverthemonthofOctober,ourfoodschoolclasstookapollofallstudentsandstaffatOsler.Thequestionwassimple…WouldyouliketohaveaFestiveBrunchoraFestiveLunchinDecember.Traditionally,OslerhasheldaFestiveLunchforallstudentsservedbythestaff.Theresultswereclose,butthevotewasclear.StudentsandstaffwantedaFestiveBrunchthisyear.Moredetailsaretofollow.

BakeSale&TeaRoomOsler is hosting our Annual Bake Sale on Tuesday December 17, 2019. Some of the delicious baked goods we will be selling include, butter tarts, fresh baked pies, pretzel bark, chocolate chip cookies, assorted biscottis, carrot muffins and much, much more! Come early to avoid disappointment, all our treats are made in house by our own Osler students.
All are welcome. The bake sale will begin at 9:30 am. All proceeds from the bake sale will go towards Osler’s sensory gardens. On the same day, we will be hosting our Tea Room in room 310. The Tea Room offers light
refreshments and hot beverages. All staff and visitors are welcome to attend. For entry please bring a non- perishable food item and/or a new unwrapped toy as a donation to our local charities.
