DIY Social Impact Reporting

About us

About the Project

• WNF / Adult Social Care• Support is available until end of March• www.bradfordvcspp.org.uk

Work So Far

• Various workshops

• One-to-one support

• Working groups

• DIY Business Planning

• Information on bvcspp.wikidot.com

Aims for today

• To explore a practical approach to

recording and reporting on social impacts

• To come up with ideas for what you could

do – particularly around outcomes and

outcome indicators

Outcomes and outcome indicators

• Outcomes – the changes, benefits or other effects that happen as a result of what you do.

• Outcome indicators – well defined pieces of information that can be assessed or measured to show whether outcomes have been achieved.

Aims for today

• Hear from a Bradford organisation which

has done some of this

• Look at ways you could maybe collaborate

– outcome banks

• Leave with a clearer idea of what to do

next

Our assumptions

• You have lots of other things to do

• You probably do some of this already

• But probably not in an organised way

• So you need something that is do-able

and affordable

What do you already do?

• What do you record already?

• What do you report on?

• What do you do as a result?

• What works well?

• What needs more work?

DIY Social Impact Reporting

Today we want to explore:

• Outcomes – the changes, benefits or other effects that happen as a result of what you do.

• Outcome indicators – well defined pieces of information that can be assessed or measured to show whether outcomes have been achieved.

Natasha Thomas

HALE’s experience of social impact reporting

How can you make a start?

• In small groups:

• Your desired outcomes

• Indicators for each outcome

• Then, what will you do with the information that you gather?

How can you collaborate?

• Is there scope to develop outcome banks?

• Could you agree to record and report on a

bank of common outcomes?

• What might be the benefits of doing this?

• What issues might it raise?

What will you do next?
