Solar Go-Kart Challenge• March 2015 was the 3rd annual Solar Go-Kart

Challenge

• All Go-Karts were modified to run on solar power

• Students from 13 high schools in Southwest Florida participated

• The idea is to help students learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Solar energy

The Solar Biz provided Bishop Verot High School with solar panels for their Go-Karts

Not only did they win the speed race and the endurance relay race…

…they won the overall Grand Championship!

The director of the race, Laura Frost, said while the speed of the Karts is limited to about 30 miles per hour for the race, solar-powered cars, if built, could go much faster.
