SOLUTION MANAGER CONFIGURATION

Login to client 001 with Sap* as username and passw0rd.

To set the parameters use Tcode RZ10

This displays the profile check log..

Go one step back and select the Instance profile

Select extended and click on change

This is where you add the parameters. This is done one after the other. Go back and save the settings.

Parameters to be added/changed are…

Restart the system after this step.

Enter tcode- Sgen and this takes you to this page. Select generate all objects of selected software

components and continue.

Select the software component of the generation set

Select all and continue

Click on continue

Click on continue…

Click on start job directly and the Sgen starts running

After the installation login with clientman and passw0rd. This takes you into this home page.

Creating a new client with T-code scc4. In this case the client name is 700 and the name is OILSERV

SOLMAN.

Copy a client/Transport analysis with T-code scc3. We are copying from our source client 180 to the

target client 700.

Get back to the main page and double click on Solution Operation

It takes us to this page where we choose to create a new solution

Enter the solution name and click on continue

Click on System landscape maintenance

This is where we create the system landscape components for our solution

Right click on SAP ECC and click on create New System with Assistant.

Click on continue

Select your prod system name and short description and click continue

Select SAP ECC server as relevant and continue

For the message server specify your production server and continue

Select Generate RFC Destinations and specify the prod client. Click on continue

Click on complete to save your entries.

CREATING RFC TO THE SELECTED PRODUCTION SYSTEM

Click continue

Check the trusted system RFC connection button and continue. Ensure that the customizing distribution

and change request management are selected.

Here we define the details for the RFC connection that is created in the integrated system. Specify the

user name and continue

Click on continue

Select assign RFC connection for system monitoring and continue

Click on complete. The system generates the specified RFC connection and assigns the RFC connections

to system monitoring.

Log into your production system to setup the RFC you created.

Navigate to System landscape component to view the production RFC

Using the T-code Sm58. Click on ABAP connection and select the RFC Destination. Change all the default

users to clientman

View the landscape components for the RFC destination.

SETTING UP SYSTEM GROUPS AND LOGICAL COMPONENTS

Navigate to SAP ECC, right click and select create new logical component.

Specify the logical components name with the format Z_OILSERV.

Click the SAP ECC drop down button and select your logical component. Click on Enter and save.

Select the production system on the Z_OILSERV interface. Click Enter and save.

Select the SAP ECC server that you created.

Set up system landscape

Schedule data transfer for solution and landscape directory

This is where we choose the task that will be administered by solman

Set the frequencies of the selected items

SYSTEM MONITORING

Click on operations and then system monitoring/administration

Click on operatios setup – solution monitoring – system monitoring

Make the instance active by checking the active box by the right

Click on Active monitoring for system. This gives us a list of SAP Systems. Select your production system

and select active.

Click on your SAP system –SAP application serverospsap_OSP_00 –performance alert of ospsap_OSP_00.

Select Memory management and buffer Alerts of ospsap_OSP_00. Select the the following buttons to

activate them.
