Thefirststepwastoanalyzethesite.Ilookedatthepathsthatcrossedthesiteaswellasthemostidealpointsofentry.Ialsolookedatthemostdesiredviewsfromthesite.UsingthisinformationIlaidagridoverthethesitethatwouldconformtoentryandthedesiredviewsofthesite.Ialsolookedathowthecirculationonandaroundthelibrarywouldchange.

NextIchoseandanalyzedbothaprecedentlibraryandthecolletctionfromtheUniversityatBuffaloNorthCampus.ThePrecedentthatIchosewastheBeineckeLibrarythatIhadanalyzedinthepreviousprojectandfoundthatIcouldtakeelementsoftheBeineckeLibraryinordertocreateamorecomprehensiveSpecialCollectionsLibraryattheUniversityatBuffalo

TheelementsthatItookfromtheBeineckeLibrarycanbeseenbothconceptuallyaswellasinplan.Hereyoucanseethatthefocusofthelibraryisaroundthebookcore.Thiscorewasseenasalmostsacredandapraisedplacewithin the Beinecke Library and I sought to mimicthisideawithinmylibrary.WhereastheBeineckeLibraryhasasolidwithinavoid,mylibraryhasanoutershellthatwrapsmybookcore.
