This clearly didn’t move me. Image is lovely but not aligned to best advantage with the slide.

Title type picks up desired colors but meets with conflict with remaining text. I don’t “see” and I don’t “feel.”

I could feel myself relaxing, loosening up—looking for bold type and a realigned image designed to capture the essence of jazz while still conveying information.

What happened? The lure of bold, contrasting type grabbed and wouldn’t give in. From here out, “information” was sacrificed for style—the bolder, the better. Colors, too, took a severe diversion from wimpy green to black, red, white, purple. That trend continued for the remaining designs.

Lower right is the product that showed the most promise, even though the content virtually dropped out of sight. I was drawn only to images that suggested the message and type that was unmistakably bold.

Well, a little “information” tried to sneak in there, so I let it hang around for a week or so before discarding the alien theme.

Well, here’s living proof I couldn’t let go of this little fella who continued to “brighten” my designs. He’s such a show-off.
