Grant Wood AEA Priority: All third graders will be proficient in reading.

GWAEA Goal #2---Increase the percentage of students who perform at the proficient level.

Grant Wood AEA Priority: The learning gaps between students with IEPs and those without and for those students in disaggregated sub-groups will be reduced.

SPEL Team Goal:To assist teachers in implementing evidence-basedpractices that effectively accelerate the literacy achievement of students receiving Special Education.

Kindergarten through Fourth Grade

•Model evidence-based instructional strategies

•Assist teachers in analyzing data•Coach and collaborate with teachers to determine appropriate instructional strategies and materials

Professional Development• In-district with the focus on literacy

• Shared strategies to teach decoding, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension

• Out of district with the focus on literacy• Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling

• LETRS builds foundational knowledge for teachers and instructional coaches to analyze current resources and deliver research validated strategies.

• Based on FAST CBM-r scores, 80% of the students will move from significantly discrepant (red) to proficient (green).

• Based on FAST CBM-r scores, the median score for each band (red/green) will increase each testing period.
