Still looking for:

• Other species Sphagnum

Grown in Glasshouse

Propagation - hydroponics

Added nutrient -> good growth

1st cycle very good . . .

but after further multiplication

algal growth & other mosses started to take

over unless nutrient level extremely low• Then growth very slow

Micropropagation

the answer?

• Under sterile conditions

– No algae– hopefully

– Nutrients at optimum for max growth

– Controlled condition to allow controlled production

– Year round and rapid

– But would it work?

Eureka –it grows!

Quickly!

Developing into normal growth

Will they grow in soil?

Yes

12 weeks growth

How/which grow best?

How to handle - spread in volume

– reduce stress

Not a planetoid

It’s a bead

With moss inside &

growing

Will they grow?

Yes - 2 weeks

What best type?

Growth after 6 weeks

Will they tolerate drought?

• Increasing drought -----

Pre-treatment to improve drought

tolerance

3weeks

8weeks

18 weeks

What if buried?

No problem 10mm-20mm (maybe30mm)

Able to grow to surface

Cold tolerance
