As the voice for Nursing Informatics in Canada, CNIA partners with jurisdictions, nursing and health informaticians and health informatics organizations across Canada to ensure nursing informatics informs clinical practice, education, research, administration and policy.
CNIA’s Goals are:
Ø To strategically seek out partnerships and networking opportunities to provide leadership and expertise for nursing informatics in Canada.
Ø To foster innovation by expanding and disseminating knowledge about nursing and health informatics for nurses and the healthcare community.
Ø To engage in national and international nursing and health informatics initiatives.
Ø To create awareness about the value of standardized data in health care to facilitate knowledge driven care and health system use.
The mission of the Saskatchewan Nursing Informatics Association (SNIA) is to be a jurisdictional voice for Nursing Informatics in Saskatchewan. SNIA: Ø Provides leadership in nursing
informatics for nurses in all domains across Saskatchewan.
Ø Brings together RNs, nursing students, and other stakeholders, to promote nursing informatics and its applications within healthcare.
Ø Provides education, information and support to colleagues to foster research.

Conflict of Interest Statement
Conflict of Interest A conflict of interest is a situation in which a person is in a position to derive
personal or financial benefit from actions or decisions made in their official capacity. Background
The Canadian Nursing Informatics Association (CNIA) is a non-‐profit association that partners with
Jurisdictions, nursing and health informaticians and health informatics organizations across Canada to ensure nursing informatics informs clinical practice, education, research, administration and policy.
CNIA in partnership with the SNIA to co-‐host the National 2020 conference on May 21-‐22, 2020 at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. CNIA and its partner jurisdictional members strive to maintain the highest standards of integrity as has come to be expected from the nursing profession. It is our foremost concern that the individuals/groups/organizations that we work with are confident of our commitment to maintaining this integrity and credibility. Irrespective of any regional activities or procurements, CNIA maintains a working relationship with regional informatics organizations for the sole purposes of advancing nursing informatics competencies, capacity development, training opportunities, and evolution of nursing informatics.
Duty to Disclose Every individual serving on any CNIA committee has the obligation to disclose any
known or potential conflict of interest in regard to regional activities or procurements. Where necessary, recusal from committee decisions or activities (such as sponsorship) is required to maintain CNIA neutrality.
Committee members seeking sponsorship for the purposes of this conference on behalf of CNIA have a duty to disclose any known or potential conflict of interest related to connecting with vendors or other potential sponsors. It must be made explicit to all vendors and potential sponsors that any financial support given to CNIA for the operation of this conference shall have no bearing on the outcome of any regional procurement process and that CNIA remains a neutral and uninvolved party to regional activities or decisions.
