Welcome to parishioners, family, friends, visitors, and all who come to worship with us on this most glorious feast of the Resurrection of the Lord! May the light of the Risen Lord shine upon you this day, and all the days of your life, that he may find you ready to enter into the splendor of his kingdom when he comes in glory. Thank you to all who have made this celebration on Easter special–parishioners, our musicians, liturgical ministers, brunch preparers, parish staff, church decorators, sacristans. The many people who make these celebrations possible reflect the glory of the members of the Mystical Body of Christ working together to give praise to God Father in union with the Holy Spirit. We are diminished by the absence of those who have been baptized into the Body of Christ when they find themselves unable to join us due to sickness, or old age, by past hurts at the hands of the Church or its people, or simply by the distraction by the competing goods of this world. As your pastor, I ask you to help me to help you by bringing to my attention, or the attention of our fine parish staff, those opportuni-ties that will help us as a parish be more effective in our outreach to the sick, our reconciliation with the hurt, our evangelization of the lukewarm or fallen-away, our assistance to the needy, our support for those suffering from divorce or separation, and our advocacy in the public square for lasting peace and justice for all. These activities advance our core purpose given by the Great Commission to teach and preach to all peoples and places. This mission is realized locally when our parish-ioners live the faith boldly and assume their rightful place as God’s Holy People en-gaged in worship, study, fellowship, service, and growth.
— We have finally launched our new parish website. While it is still being populated with information for our parishioners and visitors, it is functional at this point. I invite you to visit the site at www.stanthonypadua.org.
— On April 3, the Junefest committee will launch the “Junefest Big Prize Raffle,” which will be the anchor event of this year’s Junefest on the evening of June 16 on the grounds of St. Domi-nic School. More than $50,000 in prizes, including a new car offered by Shottenkirk Automotive Group and a Disney Vacation offered by the Travel House of Quincy will be offered. Most no-tably, 100% of the proceeds from the raffle, after paying out the prize pool, will benefit the operation of St. Dominic School.
Tickets are $50 apiece and will be widely available in the community. Official Rules and ticket purchases can be made on JunefestBigPrizeRaffle.org
