True or false? He ate bread and herbs – no meat, fish or dairyHe lived for over 100 yearsHe only ever drank water
Dewi or David died in the sixth century Nearly five hundred years passed between
his death and the first written manuscripts recording his life
So how much is just legend? It is believed that David was a very gentle
person It is claimed that he ate mostly bread and
herbs! But he was tall and physically strong
Dewi is sometimes known, in Welsh, as 'Dewi Ddyfrwr' (David the Water Drinker)
He is said to have drunk nothing else! Sometimes he would stand up to his neck in a lake of cold water!
It is claimed that Dewi lived for over 100 years!
Perhaps it was the healthy diet and water?!
'Be joyful, and keep your faith and your creed. Do the little things that you have seen me do and heard about. I will walk the path that our fathers have trod before us.’
'Do the little things' ('Gwnewch y pethau bychain') is today a very well-known phrase in Welsh, and has proved an inspiration to many
Think how this phrase links to our theme this term of enterprise…
