The High School Evaluation Process• IOWA Test Scores - grades 7 & 8
– The student has the academic ability to be successful in high school and achievement measures up to ability.
• Grades for grades 7th & 8th
– Ursuline: 6th, 7th, 8th grades– The student has demonstrated a history of appropriate
motivation and effort. – Grades are consistent and compatible with ability.– Improvement has been made in areas of struggle.

The High School Evaluation Process• Conduct & Behavioral Performance
– Student has consistently demonstrated cooperation with school rules and regulations.
– Conduct and behavior grades on report cards reflect cooperation with school rules and regulations.

Application - What to do now
• Request Recommendations - electronic– Current Math & Language Arts Teachers– JP II: Current Math or Science teachers and current
English or Social Studies teacher– 3rd recommendation:
• Student choice for Jesuit, Ursuline and JP II• Principal or Assistant Principal for Bishop Lynch• Principal or Counselor for Bishop Dunne• Do not request a large number of recommendations!
Submit Transcript Release form to SMS– Required for each school where you are applying– Signed Release of Records forms go to Libby Hassell.

• Cost- $140.00 - school testing sites- $200 - at home online/prometric testing centers

➔ Reports may be sent to 6 schools. ➔ Only one registration per season (Dec-Jan-Feb-March)➔ The school code for St. Monica is 570275. ➔ We request that you indicate St. Monica as one of the recipients of
your child’s score. ➔ Scoring is done centrally by the ISEE operations center, NOT by
the high schools (exception:essay)
ISEE: Format• “Upper Level” for grades 9-12
(same test, but scoring is based on grade levels)• Verbal Reasoning - 40 problems in 20 mins.• Quantitative Reasoning - 37 problems in 35 mins.• Reading Comprehension - 36 problems in 35 mins.• Mathematic Achievement - 47 problems in 40 mins.• Essay - 30 mins.
- On the essay section, the students receive both a 15-minute warning and a 5-minute warning before time is called.
- The essay portion reflects the student’s ability to organize thoughts and write in response to a prompt within a 30-minute time frame.
- The essay is sent to each high school for evaluation.- Parents will not have access to the scored essay.

★ Available for students who have a diagnosed learning difference AND have an IAP
★ Testing accommodation must be approved by ISEE before registering for the test.
Request accommodation: • Create account• Request accommodation• Will receive Accommodation Request Form by email (form must be
signed by school counselor, Mrs. Kirgis; other documentation required must be submitted to ISEE)
• Decision for testing with accommodation may take up to 2 weeks.
Eligibility:• Diagnosed and documented learning difference, no older that 3
years. • Requested accommodation is regularly used at current school

ISEE: The Day of the Test
• Be sure of the date, time, and place.– Arrive 15-30 minutes early to avoid last minute anxiety.
• Remember to bring the following:– Your Verification– Required ID – Bring several #2 pencils, an eraser, and a pen.– Do not take other items in the room, including cell
phones and calculators.• Dress in comfortable layers.• Clear your mind; pace yourself.• Have a protein-rich, nutritious breakfast
